Why notes are moderated
Anonymous notes are one of the best parts of Mood Atlas — a small, honest window into how a city feels. That only works if the space stays safe, so every note is checked against the guidelines below.
Notes we remove
- Harassment, hate speech, or threats aimed at any person or group
- Personal information (names, phone numbers, addresses, or anything else identifying someone)
- Spam, advertising, or links
- Sexual, violent, or graphic content
- Content presenting Mood Atlas as a medical or crisis service — if you're in crisis, please contact a local emergency or mental-health service directly
What happens when a note is removed
The mood check-in itself still counts toward that city's statistics — only the note text is removed. Removing a note doesn't notify anyone, since check-ins are anonymous and unlinked to any account.
Reporting a note
If you see a note that shouldn't be there, let us know with the city and roughly what the note said, and we'll review it.
